STATE ROUTE 170 EXPANSION PROJECT

 

Phase I. 2006

 

A. Demolition: December 2005/Janurary 2006

           

Depended upon asbestos removal and letting contract.

* Completed February 2-3, 2006; 2 of 5 businesses affected are back open, Bowyer’s remained open and moved part of their operation to East Liverpool Road, Bruster’s planning to re-open on same lot in different spot, Bruno’s Pizza  moved operations temporarily to Dunham’s Plaza and plans to rebuild a stand alone operation after construction is done.

 

B. Bid project in February to begin end of March

 

C. Construction March thru October

1. Mid-March begin on Sprucevale from Calcutta Smith Ferry Road to State Route 170 making lane one-way.

2. Early April replace and enlarge culvert cross-over pipe under State Route 170 between Calcutta Smith Ferry Road and Meadowbrook Circle.  State Route 170 to be completely closed for 2 weeks, $3,000/day penalty for being late. Detours will be posted.

3. Closer toward summer, begin working on State Route 170 on side closest to school first, then the opposite side.  Traffic maintained both directions.

4. Complete Calcutta Smith Ferry Road from State Route 170 intersection to Bell School Road.

 

Phase II. 2007

 

A. R/W completed by September of 2006, 3 business affected for relocation are Quick Lube, Quaker Pool & Spa, Calcutta Auto Parts.

 

B. Construction to begin mid-March 2007; access to businesses to remain open, traffic to be maintained in both directions throughout.

            1. Begin on N side Dresden Ave. and down the east side completing 2 lanes.

            2. Move to opposite side and finish the remaining 3 lanes

            3. Clean-up and finish intersections

            4. Complete S side of Dresden Ave.

 

Add $1 million for engineering and total project cost equals $14.5 million.
